What's Up Tigerlily Shaded by Rezzit

I had to try out this tutorial for turning rough graphite shades into photoshop shading jobs. It was fun. There's more to the tutorial about coloring and all that jazz, but I kinda like it just how it is now.

Medium: pencils, photoshop
Tags: cat kitty allykat manx bengal lesbian
Character Reference by Rezzit

I guess I'll mark this PG just in case...

Just a (very crappy) color job of my character sheet. For all I wish I'd done better by the drawing, I do love my character now.

Next up, one detailing her clothing and personality.

Medium: pencil, photoshop
Tags: cat kitty allykat manx
What? Me? by Rezzit

I hope this doesn't offend anyone.

This was specifically requested by the person who runs the IG rescue I'm doing these for. At first I was like "Why on earth would someone want art of THAT when there are so many CUTE things dog do?"

Then my family adopted an IG from her and I realized that all italian greyhound owners wear a yellow badge of courage (at least in the early days.) I /almost/ made this one look like our adopted iggy, Schnauzzle, but decided against it at the last minute in favor of a 'bluer' grey.

I'm sad to say it scanned poorly. The original is so much smoother. Also, no more yellow/orange backgrounds for me for at least two weeks. I abuse them something awful.

Medium: watercolor, markers, pencils
Tags: italian greyhound greyhound rescue ig
I love watching salt on watercolor.
Italian Greyhound by Rezzit

One of a series I'm working on for a friend of mine who runs an Italian Greyhound rescue. She's going to use them on her cafe press and website and various other things.

Pretty much everything I draw these days has SOMETHING to do with animal rescue. I never post anything anymore...

EDIT: Reupload with some coloring tweaks. Made the brown a warmer color and butchered the halo with some acryllic. I added glitter, too, because I figured it was already over the top so, eh, why not? Sadly glitterficness doesn't show in scans.

Medium: watercolor, inks, marker, colored pencil
Tags: italian greyhound
Dance, Pedrolino by Rezzit

Pedrolino is the precurser to Pierrot. Basically, Pierrot in the original Italian and before the French got to him.

Pedrolino reminds me of Dopey from the Disney version of Snow White. Simple minded, true... but innocent and happy. The kind of person that would carry a bit of string, a pretty feather, and his lunch in his pocket.

Pierrot is more tragic. Pierrot is what would come of a Pedrolino whom nobody loved.

I think I am a Pierrot, but I love Pedrolino. He has the stars on his hat.

Maybe I will color this someday.

Lesson One by Rezzit

The first of my "Assignments" from the "Lighthearted Lessons" thread on the forums. I was assigned to draw a character who was long and willowy. For some reason this made me think yoga. Then I had to add my character in as my dose of roundness.

The yoga character is a new one, as I was promised brownie points for spontaneous character creation. :D Slightly androgenous but she's a she. Part caracal, part American bobcat. She's multinational and has a British accent for some reason. And a mohawk.

Underwear are ok for this site as long as it's not in a suggestive manner right? If I did yoga, I'd do it in my undies.

Medium: pencil
Tags:
Sirius in Color by Rezzit

A little doodle I did of Sirius (Dragoon's new boyfriend's persona.) This is so totally influenced by like a million animated films... but while it's a little trite, I think it's kinda cute and the coloring really worked well when sized down to icon size.

I Wanna be an Arteest Too! by Rezzit

Just a silly little doodle. It's for those times when things just aren't working out and all of a sudden your pencil seems to weigh 100 lbs.

I tend to get them in moments of awe over someone else's work. Luckily it only lasts a moment, and soon everything's back to its proper proportions.

((Accept that pencil sharpener. There's just no hope for that thing ever being the proper anything.)) :P

Medium: pencil
Tags: cat calico kitty allykat manx
Ally Kat Goes "Heh" by Rezzit

Just a cartoony pic of my persona. I dragged out a copy of "Cartoon Animation" after being reminded that I had it.

This is actually really clean. I lightboxed it because the head was too small for the style on the original.

Medium: pencil
Tags:
Darren's Conbadge by Rezzit

I messed up SO many times on this one... but as it was all for colored pencil practice anyway, I feel partially vindicated.

Looks ok from a distance too, and hopefully most people viewing a conbadge will be at a safe distance.

Medium: prisma color markers and pencils
Tags: fox cat darren cax
